The city of Pizza has so much more to offer than just food! 

Napoli is known for the big amount of sun, big old city centre and ofcourse because of the vulcano next door!
‘’Go and enjoy this city in May, you’ll have the best weather and it wouldn’t be too crowded’
That was the advice I got when I was looking for a place to start my Italian adventure.
Little did I know what during my first week it would rain ALL WEEK LONG!

So I experienced Naples differently than any travel site had ever experienced!

The city

This beautiful city has a massive old city center with cute little streets, heaps of shops and places to eat. But the city had more than that. The big harbour influences the outer streets and the main shopping streets will bring even more life to the city.

The history of Napoli is long and a bit like Lasagne (love it), it has known many rulers and you can see the different influences in the streets like Greek, Roman, Arabian, German, and spanish.

You see and taste the influences around the royal palace, the spanish quarters and in the old town.

Traffic is crazy! If you want to move around, take a motorbike but you’re better off with the subway and by walking!

When it rains in Napels

Gluten Free food in Napels

Naples, renowned as the city of pizza, welcomes gluten-free travelers with open arms. While most street food stands may not cater to gluten-free options, these favorites have you covered:

Staying in Napels

This beautiful city has a lot to offer and is a good spot if you want to do day trips to Capri, The Amalfi coast, Sorrento or Pompeii.

I would recommend spending at least 3 or 4 nights here. This way you can explore the city, and do some different daytrips! 

The hostels I stayed at were +/- €40 a night. Rather, you stay near the harbour or closer to the old center, it doesn’t really matter. The city is very Walkable so within 15-20min you can be anywhere.

You can use busses but the metro is way more efficient and faster! It’s very cheap and get you everywhere.
